UIL Travels to Harlingen this past Saturday.


The Accounting team, headed by Mr. Ocana placed Marco Silva in 2nd place, veteran division. 


Samantha Reyes took 3rd place and Juan Reyna, Jr. took 4th place in Computer Science, coached by Mr. Castillo.  The team took 1st place team in novice division. 


In Science competition, Jin Gao took the Top Physics award.  He also placed 5th in 12th grade level, and Katherine McKenna placed 3rd.  Juan Reyna also placed 10th place in 12th grade level.  Sam Reyna took 9th place in the 11th grade level.  The science team is coached by Mr. Guanzon


The Calculator team took 1st place team with Ricky Yruegas taking 1st and Peter Silva taking 4th in 12th grade level.  Edgar Garza took 1st place in 11th grade level.  In Number Sense, Edgar Garza took 1st place in 11th grade level, and Jin Gao took 6th place in 12 grade level.  The teams are coached by Mr. Pena.


In Mathematics, coached by Ms. Beglin, Jin Gao took 3rd place, Katherine McKenna took 5th place, and Pedro silva took 6th place in 12th grade level.  In 11th level, Edgar Garza took 1st place.


In Poetry Interpretation, Toni Villanueva took 3rd place.  Her coach is Mr. Zamora.  In Speech teams, coached by Mrs. Guerrero, took 6th place with Ivan Garavito, and 7th place honors went to Marco Flores.


In Ready Writing, coached by Mrs. Rodriguez, Isaac Guajardo took 5th place and Jacob Longoria took 6th place.  In Literary Criticism, Tian Rivas took 9th place.


The social Studies team, coached by Ms. Lopez, also brought home points as Cassandra Sandoval place 4th and Tiana Rivas placed 8th in veteran division.


At the time the team left, several results were still not completed and the team was in the running for sweepstakes.  Another announcement will be made as soon as all the final results are tabulated and we receive notification.
