MHS FFA members spent most of their Saturday attending leadership sessions where they learned about the FFA Organization, Team Building, Supervised Agricultural Experiences, and opportunities they will have as active members in the Mission High School FFA Chapter.
In addition to all the hands on learning activities, members were fortunate to start the day with a special guest speaker. Former Mission High School FFA Member, Precinct 3 Constable Larry Gallardo, delivered a powerful message to the members in attendance. Mr. Gallardo spoke about his experiences in high school, college, and life. He encouraged the FFA members to pursue a college degree, seek to be leaders in the community, and to continue to be active Mission High School FFA members. Mr. Gallardo shared his personal experiences as a MHS FFA member and explained how those experiences have helped him along the way in his career and in life.
Mr. Gallardo has been serving Hidalgo County as the Precinct 3 Constable for 15 years; he is currently serving as President of the Texas Justice of the Peace and Constables Association of Texas. Mr. Gallardo has been recognized multiple times at the State and National level and has won numerous awards for his outstanding leadership and commitment to our community. Mr. Gallardo fired up the students and motivated them to strive for another successful year for the Mission High School FFA Chapter.
