MHS DECA Pet Rescue

They raised awareness for the need of animal food in the shelters and need for fostering and adopting pets. The students decorated boxes and distributed them in different classrooms around Mission High School campus, where students and teachers could make dog and cat donations (food and toys). The flyers and announcements created by students helped as reminders to keep the donations coming. The overall donations added up to 306 food/toys. The donations were delivered by 12 DECA members to the Palm Valley Animal Center on November 15, 2014. The same students attended an orientation and were certified to do volunteer hours in the shelter. The students did 3 hours walking pets and helping cut up blankets for the shelter animals.
Mission High School DECA will continue to help at the shelter and assure that people are aware of the need for adopting and fostering these loving pets.
