STC President visits Mission High School

Dr. Shirley Reed
Serves as founding President of STC. And, led the development of the College serving a population of 700,000 in a two-county district with five campuses/centers, over 22,000 credit students per semester, 90 degree and certificate programs, 1,784 faculty and staff, and a $105 million annual operating budget. Also just last year Dr. Reed was awarded the prestigious Harold W. McGraw, Jr. Prize in Education, recognizing her contribution to furthering a college-going culture in the Rio Grande Valley. The 2013 McGraw Prize recognizes individuals who have made “significant strides in the fight to make a college education an achievable dream for the next generation” and includes a $50,000 prize.
