MHS BAND Receives Division 1 rating


  • On October 11th at the City of Palms Contest the Band received a "Superior" Rating all the way across from all four judges. The Colorguard and Drumline earned 3rd place awards in conference 6A for their captions. The attached picture with the students from left to right are Guard Captain- Katheryn McKenna, Drum Major-Stefanie Florez, Jesus Olivares, Nayeli Lopez, and High Flyer Major-Crystal Hernandez.
  • On October 18th the Band Earned a "Superior" Rating from 3 UIL Judges at the 76th annual "Pigskin Jubilee" UIL Region 15 Marching Contest. Since Mission HS is in conference 6A the band has advanced to Area G marching Contest this weekend in San Antonio, TX. The band will be performing at 2:15pm at Farris Athletic Complex. The band is now a "back to back" Area qualifying Marching Band which it accomplished last year as a "4A" High School. The attached picture is a field shot from Finale as the band received their first division.
