Congratulations to the Lady Eagle’s Track team for a fine performance at the District 32-5A Meet. The Lady Eagles finished 5th overall in the team standings with 69 points. 7 athletes will advance to the Area Track Meet to be held April 17th Edcouch-Elsa for field events and Weslaco for the Area Showcase Meet in the pm. Cassie Clemons turned in a fabulous performance winning both the long jump and triple jump. She qualified in 3 events including the mile relay. She participated in 5 events and medaled in all five. Michelle Flores finished 2nd in the 800 and 1600 meter runs, then anchored the mile relay to a 4th place finish. Other members of the Area qualifying mile relay were Valerie Castillo, Ashley Diaz and Cassie Clemons. Freshman Olivia Cano also earned a trip to the Area Meet with a 4th place finish in the 200 meter dash. Sandy Martinez will once again advance in the High Jump. Senior Stephanie Cedillo will represent in the 3200 meters. She ran a big personal best to reach the Area meet. Coach Munson would like thank all of his track girls for giving it their all in a tough District Battle. Big thanks to all the Coaches that have given 100’s of hours to our Mighty Mission Eagles.
