Two MHS Eagle Choir students have earned places in the Texas Music Educators Association All State Mixed Choir. Frankie Chaires (Tenor II) earned 2nd chair, and Xavier Alonzo (Bass I) earned 4th chair. These students began the All State process in September with the District/Region audition, advanced to pre-Area in November, and then continued to advance through the Area auditions this past Saturday in order to become members of the All State Choir. They will travel to the TMEA annual convention in San Antonio on February 12th to begin rehearsing with the All State Choir, which will present its concert on Saturday, February 15th at the Gonzalez Convention Center.
These students are to be commended not only for their talent, but also for their focus, dedication, and determination through months of grueling competition. Their directors, Kat Callaway and AnnaMarie Gonzalez, are extremely proud of the accomplishments of these young men.
