First, the Mission High School Percussion Ensemble placed 1st at the TCGC Edinburg North HS contest. Seven high schools from the RGV were in attendance at the show. The Percussion Ensemble will next travel to San Antonio to compete and will then possibly qualify for the TCGC Percussion Championships held at Reed Arena on the Texas A&M campus.
Second, our multi-year state medalist Color guard returned to competition after being shut down for two years due to covid to earn 2nd place at the Edinburg North contest. That contest included guards from 11 high schools in the RGV. They have now qualified and will attend the TCGC Championships in San Antonio Next weekend. These students have really put a lot of effort into returning to competition after a long period of down time with many of these students being new to the activity this year.
