Mission High School student, Ivanna Vargas, has been recognized by the Barbara Bush Foundation for being an outstanding mentor. She will be featured on the foundation’s social media sites during Global Volunteer Month in April.
“I have been in touch with the mother of Ivanna’s mentee and she states that she has done an amazing job with her daughter and has created a wonderful bond with her,” states Deanna Vallejo, MHS teacher.
Ivanna goes out of her way each session to come up with different activities to do with her mentee that will help reinforce the book they review. Her personality and positivity are qualities that have helped her become an excellent mentor.
