For those new to Operation College Bound, this will be our 8th annual event, whereby our PDC works with STC techs to set up 160 laptops in each of the gyms so STC and UTPA can bring in their financial aid personnel to assist all seniors in completing their FAFSA or TAFSA (for students without a social security number). While half of the seniors are completing FAFSAs in the gym, the other half proceed through various break-out sessions such as “Financial Aid: What Next?”, “Credit Smart”, “Transitioning to College”, etc. The CTE counselors will also work with the nursing department to set up a meningitis clinic.
