FFA Barbecue this Saturday the 17th

The MHS FFA Syndicate BBQ is on Saturday, September17, 2016. All proceeds go towards our Community Service Projects, Teacher Appreciation, FFA Banquet, National FFA Week, and many other activities throughout the year.

Mission High School "Tome Raiders" place 2nd...

...at the First Annual Battle of the TAYSHAS Competition.
Battle of the TAYSHAS is a literary initiative that encourages 9th through 12th grade students to participate in a trivia challenge based on books from the TAYSHAS High School Reading List. The word TAYSHA is a Native American Caddo Indian words that means "friends or allies." The TAYSHAS reading list is compiled yearly by Texas High School and Young Adult Librarians by the Texas Library Association. The TAYSHAS Book List is dedicated to Young Adult novels.

Physicals May 25th at 3:30pm

We are having physicals here at Mission Field House at 3:30pm. The girls will be completed first and boys will follow. Please remind your athletes to bring $20 with them (Cash or check) to cover the cost of the physical. Athletes MUST have their physical packet completed. We will not be allowing students to take their physical if they have not completed the paperwork (Most important is Medical History).

MCISD Folklorico Competes and Wins

The MCISD Folklorico team did an outstanding job on their recent competitions this past month. The team competed at Competencia Folklorica De Tejas held at Corpus Christi, La Feria De South Texas College held in McAllen, and ACADEZ National Folklorico/Contemporary Dance Competition held at San Antonio. Overall the team received a total of 13 trophies: three first-place trophies, five second-place trophies, and four third-place trophies. The 13th trophy was received for having the highest score in the duet category for the entire competition held in McAllen. This competition was not only for high schools, but it also included middle schools and private groups with dancers that ranged in age from 5 yrs. to adults. The couple that received this honor consists of Jose Espinoza and Samantha Esquivel. Other members that participated in these competitions were Briceyda Olvera, Reynaldo Moreno, Josue Gutierrez, Esmeralda Esmerado, Josephine Espino, Janelly Perez, Alyssa Canizalez, Anahi Cuevas, Angela Salazar, and Valerie Barreiro.

Robo-Rangers Robotics competes at TCEA Championship

The 2015-2016 school year marks another great season for The Mighty Mission ROBO-RANGERS. This year the team advanced 8 teams to the Texas Computer Education Association (TCEA) State Robotics Championship held in Hutto, TX on April 30, 2016.
