UIL Academics


Congratulations to our UIL Academics teams who competed at the Sharyland Pioneer tournament this Saturday. In LD Debate, William Abrams took 4th place and Alma Zamora took 5th place. Michelle Flores took 2nd place in Copy Edit journalism. In Calculator Applications, David Medina took 1st place – 9th grade division, Alejandro Hernandez took 5th place – 10th grade division, Alyssa Garza took 3rd place – 11th grade division, and Edgar Garza took 3rd place – 12th grade division. Alma Zamora took 4th place and Abram Williams took 5th place in Current Issues and Events. Edgar Garza also took 5th place in Number Sense – 12th grade division. Congratulations to the students and their coaches.

Online Registration begins February 27th 2017

Parents will be able to complete their student registrations for the 2017-2018 school year through www.mcisd.net, or go mobile using the Student360 (Parent Portal) App. The Tyler Student360 App is available, for free, through the Apple App Store or Google Store. Complete online registration by midnight on March 5, 2017 for a chance to win a Chromebook computer (1 per school)
Also, the first 1,500 students with completed online registration will receive a free t-shirt.

MHS Law Enforcement & Fire Science Program Student Advances to State Competition

TPSA Texas High School Public Service Competition exposes students to real world experiences in the public service sector, such as the Firefighter Search and Rescue Maze where students develop the physical and sensory skills to conduct a successful search of an area under simulated zero visibility conditions, and the Disturbance Call team competition where students improve their problem-solving, decision-making, and oral and written communication skills in the area of criminal investigation.

FFA Team Completes a Phenomenal Year

MHS FFA was ranked 4th Place out of 272 teams in the State of Texas. The Mission High School FFA Senior Parliamentary Procedure Team had an exemplary year winning multiple Championships and brought home a 4th place overall banner at this years’ State Finals.

A glimpse at MHS in the near future...

During the Board of Trustees Facilities Committee meeting last night, PBK Architects presented this video showing what the new two-story building and new entry at Mission High School will look like inside and out. The overall project also includes a new Ag building and renovations/expansion of the existing bandhall into a Fine Arts Facility and renovations of buildings M and N.
