UIL Academic Season Begins

The Miss High School Academic team competed in the La Joya Fall UIL Invitational. The following students placed in their events:

In Calculator contest, senior, Kimberly Ramon took 5th place in 12th grade level, junior, Alyssa Garza took 6th place in 11th grade level, sophomore, Alejandro Hernandez too 5th place in 10th grade level, and David Medina took 1st place in 9th grade level.
In Accounting contest, Novice - Individual level, Melissa Molina placed 8th, Ruben Cantu placed 11th, Juan Rodriguez placed 16th, and Jensen Rosales placed 17th out of 29 competitors
The team took 3rd place with the scores of Melissa Molina, Ruben Cantu, and Juan Rodriguez
out of 7 teams total.
In spelling, Sarah Alonzo took 7th place.
Congratulations to the students and their coaches, and keep up the good work!

MHS Band Receives Division 1

Mission High School Mighty Mission Eagles Band was recognized on Wednesday night’s MCISD Board Meeting for receiving a Division I at this year’s Pigskin Jubilee at La Joya HS Stadium. The MHS Band qualified for area band competition and performance at PSJA HS Stadium on Saturday, October 22.

Mrs. Victoria Rojas receives yet another award!

Mission High School (MHS) teacher, Victoria Rojas has received the 2016 Outstanding Teaching of the Humanities Award from Humanities Texas. She is one of only 12 recipients in the state out of 700 teachers who were nominated for the honor.

In case you had not seen the flyers for this upcoming event yet…the district’s United in Safety committee is hosting a parent conference this coming Saturday at R. Cantu Jr. High. This is open to any Mission CISD parent…or employee who would like to learn more about cyber-crimes and online safety, as well as drug awareness.
