One of my most significant accomplishments as an educator has been the opportunity to teach my students the importance, value and significance in being an active member of their community; which will empower them to become interested in the history of their culture. This knowledge, I hope, will persuade them to become more involved. I ensure their success in accomplishing this goal by incorporating a variety of strategies in my day to day lessons. It is imperative to create a generation of individuals who are well informed and who thrive for knowledge. It has been a privilege to witness my students’ thirst for knowledge and experience their quest for answers. When my students ask probing significant questions, I am convinced that an active community member is being formed. It is my belief that inquisitive individuals, create a good citizen. My ultimate goal as a History teacher/professor is to create a community of well-informed citizens who will be active participants that will take pride in their history and culture.
