Gabrielle “Gabby” Castillo signs a National Letter of Intent

Gabrielle “Gabby” Castillo signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball for the Lady Palominos at Laredo Community College (LCC). Gabby, who is the daughter of Javier and Jackie Castillo, is the first player recruited by LCC for their new softball program, lead by Head Coach Kristy Lansford. LCC competes in the Region 14 Athletic Conference under the National Junior College Athletic Association.
Gabby is a four year varsity lettermen and starting pitcher for the Lady Eagles softball team. So far this season her pitching record is 12-2, her batting average is .509, and her ERA is 1.23. Her individual honors include: 30-5A All District Pitcher 2nd Team (2011,2012); All-Valley 1st Team Pitcher (2013), District 32-4A Defensive MVP (2013); Mission High School Team Defensive Player of the Year (2013).
In 2013, The Lady Eagles were Area Finalists as well as 32-4A District and Bi- District Champions. The Lady Eagles are coached by Varsity Head Coach Iris Iglesias and Varsity Assistant Coaches Reuben Trigo and Frank Rios.
In addition to playing with MHS, Gabby is a part of the RGV Heat 18U Traveling Team.
