MHS graduate honored as Exemplary Migrant Student

The salutatorian of Mission High School’s (MHS) class of 2013 has been honored as an Exemplary Migrant Student by the Texas Migrant Interstate Program. Alicia Carmona is one of nine students honored at the Association for Migrant Educators of Texas Conference. Carmona and the other eight honorees were selected from 126 nominations that were submitted.
Carmona is currently attending Texas A&M University in College Station. She is pursuing a degree in biomedical engineering.
The Texas Migrant Interstate Program is a special project of the Texas Education Agency designed to facilitate the intra and interstate coordination of information and services for migrant student.
